Accessibility
The shop is built to be used with a keyboard, a screen reader, or a phone held one-handed.
What is in place
- Every page can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring at each stop.
- A skip link is the first thing a keyboard reaches, so the navigation can be passed over.
- Body text meets WCAG AA contrast. Where the brand's champagne would not, a darker value of the same hue is used instead.
- Photographs carry alternative text that describes the photograph rather than the product name, and decorative images carry none at all so a screen reader passes them by.
- Filters are ordinary links, so they work without JavaScript and can be opened in a new tab.
- Motion is switched off entirely for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
What is not finished
The shop has not been audited against WCAG 2.2 by anyone independent, and it has not been tested with a screen reader by somebody who uses one daily. Both are worth doing and neither has been done.
We would rather say that than claim a level of conformance nobody has checked.
