Questions

The things people ask before they buy, answered plainly.

Before you order

What are the suits made of?
We are confirming the exact fibre content with our supplier and will publish it on each product page once we have it in writing rather than guess at it here. What we can say now: these are not hand-tailored garments and they are not sold as such.
Is this made to measure?
No. Every suit here is cut to a standard size and held in stock, which is why it ships the next working day and why it costs what it costs. Buy your chest size and have a tailor finish it.
Do the trousers come hemmed?
No, and that is on purpose. Hemming is the one alteration nearly everyone needs, and a hem set to the wrong leg cannot be undone. Your tailor sets it to your shoe.
Does the suit come with the trousers?
Yes. Every price on the site is for the full suit. A three piece includes the waistcoat.
What if I am between sizes?
Take the larger one and have it taken in. There is far more room to reduce a jacket than to let one out.

After it arrives

How much should alterations cost?
A hem is $15 to $25. Sleeves are $25 to $40. Taking in the waist is $25 to $40. If a tailor quotes you far above that for a simple job, ask another.
The shoulders do not fit. Can that be altered?
Not sensibly. Shoulder work costs more than the suit and rarely comes out right. Shoulders that do not sit flat mean the size is wrong — send it back within thirty days.
Can I dry clean it?
Yes, but rarely. Dry cleaning is harder on cloth than most people think. Air the suit after wearing, brush it, and clean it once or twice a year unless something happens to it.
Something is wrong with the garment itself.
Photograph it and write to clients@vittorioblanc.com with your order number. A fault is not a return — we replace it and cover the postage both ways.
